I dont know if this has been mentioned but I would like to put it forward.

I have loads and loads of monastary credits, equipment requisitions, battle commendations and the like in storage but not really anything to use em on. I mean salvage kits and stuff run out at some point but i just usually just pick one up from merchant when i need one.

Then it occured to me... you can get keys for respective ares from the quatermasters in the same areas... so why not Lockpicks?

Hard Mode can be accessed from anywhere in the game (mostly) and lockpicks are both useful and expensive... if you could get these from quater masters not only would it free up space in my storage (and maybe others i dunno) but give us summin else to obtain from them.

What do people think?

That's good, they should be offered for 5 [insert generic reward item] like expert salvage kits.

Hey, if you don't know what to spend those credits on, I have a grand suggestion: get booze. Lots of it. Then PvE while completely drunk. I bet UW smite runs will never be the same when you can't tell what's what.

Interesting idea, I think it holds some merit.

As much as i really really really want the title and like the idea, i say no. because then someone could really just roll a new guy and grab the few quests and abuse that. I don't know what to do with the things i got, but this could be abused and, even though im poor and stuff, i would like to know that people got this title by going "above and beyond" the call by taking the chances with the picks

Expert Salvaging Kits are worth more than lockpicks (not counting the modular loot value when you use them), if someone wanted to abuse it like that, they could have easily done it by now. I don't see why it would be any different with lockpick.

Yeah, whenever I get Kournan Coins, I always trade for Expert Salvage kits. Instant 1K, which is nothing to sneeze at.

I like this idea, except maybe jack the trade price up higher to, say, one lockpick per seven of [insert coveted item here]? Ten? That way it wouldn't be cost-effective enough to merit rerolling, but you could still take advantage of it if you have the items but don't feel like unloading a crapload of salvage kits.

Well... you can currently get 1k sell 2k buy items from them.
This would be a 750g sell 1500g buy.

You could already get 1500g keys from them (1250g now).

just going to point out now that i didnt think of this as a money making ploy... well not by selling the lockpicks anyway.

As for saying they not worth as much as salvage kits then well.... buy salvage kits and sell em... good for some quick cash but i stand by my idea lol.

Just figured itd be a nice addition to the quatermasters. I understand whats been said about people exploiting this and just making new characters simply to get lockpicks. I also like whats been said about making the cost higher for them or something. I just feel that the lockpick is a very useful tool in the game and every other useful object can be aquired from these generous quatermaster folk.

keep the replys coming itd be cool for anet to see this and at least consider it i think.
